The NBA’s regular season is coming to a close with just a few games left to play and that means the playoffs are right around the corner! Every team has already clinched a playoff or play-in berth so we know which teams are in and who isn’t. With that being said the clear favorite is undoubtedly the Phoenix Suns who hold the NBA’s best record with 63-17 (ESPN).
The Phoenix Suns just recently set a franchise record for most wins in a season with 63 last game led by two top 15 players in the league, Devin Booker and Chris Paul. They will most likely have the Coach of The Year in Monty Williams and may also be getting two more awards with MVP going to Devin Booker and Defensive Player of The Year going to Mikal Bridges. The Suns are stacked to say the least. The Suns are in the top 3 in offensive and defensive rating being the number 3 ranked offense and number 2 ranked defense in the league (NBA). The only weakness to this team is that they don’t get to the free throw line as often as others but that is not a big issue and it can be easily fixed. The X-Factor for the Suns to have success is center Deandre Ayton. If he can have a dominant playoffs like he did last year this team will be NBA champions.
With Chris Paul being 36 and turning 37 during the playoffs, this will likely be one of the last chances he has at winning an NBA championship and cementing his spot as a top 3 point guard of all time. For Devin Booker, he is entering the prime of his career and what better way to start than with an NBA Championship. The Phoenix Suns have never won a championship in their 54 years of existence and this is their best chance without question.
